Do You Prefer Using A Mac Or A Windows OS
It’s true that there are plenty of different computer manufacturing brands, but for the average user, there are only two choices for operating systems: Mac OS vs. Windows. Linux is also out there, but that is usually only chosen by people with advanced computer skills or businesses. When it is time to pick your next computer, you’ll want to be able to look closely at both Mac and Windows systems and we’ll share some of the advantages of each of them in the following paragraphs.
If you want to use your computer alongside a bunch of external devices you are going to have better options with Windows. For example, if you buy an up to date computer with Windows 7, it’s likely to come equipped with a Blu-ray player, Memory Stick reader or multi-format card readers. A lot of people want to be able to connect their computers to their television sets and when you own a Mac, this requires a special converter tool. Computers that have Windows 7 installed, though, are usually able to directly connect to your TV set. This makes it easy to watch any online videos on your television. In general, computers that run Windows are more compatible with external devices than computers with a Mac OS (unless, obviously that device was made by Apple).
If you follow what happens in technical news, you have probably started to hear things about the next major upgrade to the Windows OS: Windows 8. For a few users this is going to cinch the debate between choosing a Windows and a Mac PC because Windows is hinting at some extraordinary new features with the newest upgrade. Most importantly, Windows 8 will give you the option of using your computer as a tablet, with a highly functional touchscreen. There are also going to be some options for choosing traditional keyboards and mouses. Obviously, at the time of this article’s writing, Windows 8 was still something people could only look forward to. The earliest release date we can find is sometime in 2012. By then it is definitely likely that Mac is going to come up with something that will rival those features.
What is important about a computer is taking care of your needs, but it is a good idea to get a computer that looks good to you. However, many people prefer the look of a Mac over most PCs. Having high functioning products, that are attractive and ergonomic, has always been important to the designers at Apple. This, of course, is part of why Apple products are more expensive than most other brands. There are many computers that are not only nicely designed, but also Windows-based, and you can find one that appeals to you with a little effort. When you are looking for a computer to buy, there are most important factors to think about than the look or design, but its okay to find one that you like how it looks.
There is no definitive answer as to whether Mac or Windows is the absolute best OS. Both systems have fans and there are absolute advantages to each of them. You are going to need to carefully consider the needs you have, your budget, etc and then figure out which OS is best for all of those.
